After the impressive performance of Jah Shaka last december, King Shiloh Sound System and Paradiso proudly present the next UK roots sound explosion, another serious happening, featuring Aba-Shanti-I with his own awesome set of boxes and amplifiers, for the first and only time in Holland. On Sunday the 16th of July the ‘Mighty Earth Rocker’ will be shaking the foundations of Paradiso, Amsterdam.

Aba-Shanti-I, the multi talented sound man and music producer has steadily built up his evergrowing reputation in London, playing regularly in clubs like the Arches, Imperial Gardens and Brixton Recreation Centre. He began as a DJ/toaster with Jah Tubby’s, but since 1990 runs his own sound system, playing innovative high tech dub and original conscious roots. Like Aba himself says:

‘What you hear is what I’m feeling inside. It’s just the Father giving I and I inspiration, directing us to send out vibrations to the people. Bringing the races, all the different nations together under Jah love is what we play for. One Love, Jah Rastafari’.

Na het indrukwekkende optreden van Jah Shaka sound system afgelopen december in Paradiso, is het weer tijd voor de volgende roots sound explosion uit Londen. King Shiloh heeft, in samenwerking met Paradiso, het mogelijk gemaakt dat Aba-Shanti-I sound system met eigen boxen en versterkers naar Nederland komt. Zondag 16 juli zal de ‘Mighty Earth Rocker’ Paradiso laten trillen in zijn voegen.

In Londen is Aba-Shanti-I sound system een begrip door zijn sessies in clubs als the Arches, Imperial Gardens en Brixton Recreation Centre. Hij produceerde tot nu toe drie platen en vijf singles en is de oprichter van Falasha Records. Aba-Shanti-I begon als dj/toaster bij Jah Tubby’s, maar sinds 1990 heeft hij zijn eigen sound berucht als ‘Jah Lightning and Thunder’. Aba-Shanti-I’s mix van high tech dub en conscious roots draagt een positieve boodschap. Zo beschrijft hij het zelf:
