Sunday 8 September 2002

"Shaka, for those who know their history, is the name of the African Warrior ‘King of the Zulus’. For those who know their reggae it is the name of the undisputed king of the sound system."

On Sunday the 8th of September, exactly one year since the last edition, King Shiloh (in cooperation with Paradiso), proudly present DubClubY2K Special Part 6, featuring Jah Shaka, Mighty Zulu Warrior and sound system legend. The King of Dub returns to Holland for just one special happening, in Amsterdam's top venue.

For those present at Shaka's first visit to Paradiso in December 1999 no further explanation is necessary, for those who missed it...A Shaka dance is more than just an entertaining night out, it is a spiritual, uplifting experience. It's a mystical journey to the heart of roots reggae. Booming bass-lines, African drum-beats and thought-provoking live vocals. Dub-plates and screaming sirens! Praises to the Creator.

Jah Shaka is without a doubt the most influential figure on the international dubscene today. For more than thirty years Shaka has moulded the UK sound system scene with his unique ground-breaking style. And besides his work as soundsystem, Shaka has also produced a multitude of releases in corporation with the greats of reggae, singers like Horace Andy, Willy Williams, Max Romeo and Gregory Isaacs.

All roads lead to Paradiso on Sunday the 8th of September. Earth shaking roots and culture inna King David style from the one and only King of Dub, Jah Shaka!
